The Vision:

This never been worn vintage dress has everything you would expect to find in a traditional Qipao Dress: 1) Mandarin collar, check 2) Two side slits, check 3) Form fitting bodice with 2 bust darts in the front and 2 waist darts in the back, check, check, check. However, this dress takes on a mind of it's own in the following ways:

First, it is made from a chocolate brown washable suede that has a caramel, ivory & sage abstract swirl pattern running diagonally across the dress. Yes, there is such a thing as washable suede but personally I would not want to take any chances with this special piece. Second, I made this dress using French seams. In Laymen's terms this is basically a seam encased within a seam. For this one, there is no bias tape required. Finally, this dress is simply unique. In honor of Halloween, I can definitely see someone channeling the character Chun-Li from Streetfighter wearing this dress. Of course, I am biased because I made this dress in a see-through baby blue abstract chiffon many years ago and I dressed as Chun-Li for a costume party side buns and wrist guards included!
